Virus Scan

Virus scans are extremely important to the livelihood of your computer. You would avoid your computer being vulnerable to virus attacks by keeping an up to date virus protection program on your computer. There are a couple of virus programs that would do the job. I would recommend a program that has both anti-virus and firewall. Once you have the program installed you should let it run in the background that way the firewall keeps a watch on any attempted attacks. It will help block attacks while you are connected to the internet. I would run weekly updates to keep your virus definitions current and scan your computer weekly also just in case you accidentally down load a virus.

SPYWARE SCAN

Spyware is just annoying and can cause a lot of issues. Spyware is any software that covertly gathers user information through the user's Internet connection. Without his or her knowledge, usually for advertising purposes. Once installed, the spyware monitors user activity on the Internet and transmits that information in the background to someone else. I would recommend a good spyware program that can run in the background so it can also keep you safe. When I refer to running in the background I mean you will not see it but it is still running while you continue to work on your computer.

I would also recommend keeping your computer up to date with updates to prevent any issues. File sharing is also another source for viruses and spyware so be careful. I will be posting additional information on maintaining your computer so you can keep repair cost to a minimum. Feel free to post any questions I am certified and I was a tech for a big computer retailer which will remain nameless to protect the innocent. Feel free to post comments I have posted some
helpful links.
